About

Jason Ward, AIA, NCARB, Founding Principal

Jason Ward is a licensed architect in the states of Missouri, Colorado, and Arkansas. He holds a Master of Architecture degree from Harvard University and a five-year Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Arkansas. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects as well as the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards.

Prior to founding his own practice, Jason completed award-winning projects while at Studio B and the offices of Brian MacKay-Lyons and Marlon Blackwell—nationally and internationally recognized firms in the US and Canada. Alongside public and institutional work, he has extensive experience working with private clients on the design and construction of luxury homes in locales such as Boston and the greater New England region and, most recently, in Aspen, Colorado.

Jason's approach to design is firmly rooted in the architectural traditions of Modernism, but the studio's daily practice relies upon a philosophical re-interpretation of those customs in the context of contemporary life. Most important—and critical to the honest pursuit of sustainability—the firm welcomes and embraces projects that incorporate existing structures and historic buildings as opportunities to preserve our cultural heritage while looking towards the future.

Over the course of the past 25 years, in addition to professional practice, Jason has taught at numerous universities throughout the United States and the Middle East, including Washington University in Saint Louis and the American University of Sharjah in the U.A.E., and was a visiting scholar at the American Academy in Rome. Having relocated to Saint Louis in 2015, Jason and his family now spend time between Saint Louis and Aspen.
